Nelson Wedding
We couldn’t have planned a more perfect day! Beautiful weather for November started our morning, and it just got better as the day went on. Our friends and family helped create a day filled with love and laughter, and having our children experience the day and it’s events with us made it that much more memorable.

How did the two of you meet?
Dakota and I were in the same preschool class, and ended up going
throughout the rest of our school years together. We had always been
friends, but it wasn't until high school that we started dating. It
took him a year of trying until I finally said yes. The best decision
of my life.
How did the proposal take place?
December 23, 2014- Dakota is a volunteer firefighter in his hometown
of Searsboro. Every year around Christmas, the firefighters go
throughout the town delivering cookies/baked goods. That year, they
invited me to go along. I was offered the front seat of the new
firetruck. He had to go down to the station early to get his bunker
gear on and get the trucks ready so I headed down shortly after. When
I got there, his chief and the crew were standing outside- they said
he was still getting ready. We were all talking while we waited for
him, when they told me to turn around. When I did, he was suited up in
his gear, down on one knee. We laughed, hugged, and were
congratulated, then headed out to deliver the goodies to the families
in town. Even in the single digit temps, it was perfect.
How was your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?
Dakota's favorite thing to do involves anything outdoors. He wanted
to incorporate that in any way we could- the antlers were the perfect
touch. Hunting is a family tradition for him, so we used shed antlers
from his brother and sister-in-law. Our centerpieces helped bring in
the outdoors with the wood base- and our flowers added just the right
amount of romantic feel to bring it all together. Our wedding day was
special in itself, as we had started our relationship six years
earlier, to the day.
