Schumann Wedding
Natalie and Nathan were married in Storm Lake, IA on August 13, 2016 with a reception following at a machine shed owned by the groom’s family. Natalie and Nathan chose a rustic theme with peach and gold colors. Natalie specifically chose the color peach as her nana’s nickname was Peach and she had passed away just a few years prior. Natalie felt it was a great way to have her nana with her on her big day! Milk bottle mason jars on slabs of wood were set on tables for the couple’s centerpieces. Both love to hunt and incorporated antlers and pheasant feathers into the theme.

How did the two of you meet?
We met in college at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. We had a fly fishing class together and lived next door to one another.
How did the proposal take place?
Thanksgiving 2015 we went on vacation with Nathan’s family to Florida. As a family we went out to eat at a restaurant by the bay. After dinner Nathan was wanting to take pictures by the water, but he was acting funny! Every place we were going to take a picture together it wasn’t the right location. After we moved to 2 other locations – and me wondering what was going on? He eventually knelt down and his 3 year old niece was sitting on his knee. He whispered into her ear and right then I knew what was going on. She said, “Natalie will you marry my uncle Nate?” I started crying and gave him a big hug and said, “Yes!”
